Day 07 → A photo that makes you happy
( This one never fails to make me smile. )
Day 06 → Whatever tickles your fancy
I am going to list my favorite video games. Whee!
1. The Super Smash Bros series. <3 Melee is my favorite even though Brawl is awesome. I never liked fighting games all that much; I tend to get bored really fast. But there's something really incredibly awesome about SSB.
2. Mario games, of course: Super Mario World is my favorite, then Mario 64, then Mario 3.
3. Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo, also known as just plain Puzzle Fighter. One of my favorite puzzle games ever.
4. Pokemon games! From the classics (Blue/Red, etc) to Pokemon Snap to Pokemon Puzzle League.
5. Harvest Moon: Back to Nature and its GBA adaptations.
6. Final Fantasy VII. I really need to play other FF games.
7. The original Super Mario Kart.
8. Cooking Mama. Those games are addictive and I really can't explain what makes them so great.
9. Animal Crossing
Yep, you can tell I'm really not a hardcore gamer. I'm not much into strategy games or FPSs. I just enjoy the classics and some other dorky things.
Day 05 → Your favorite quote
I don't really have a FAVORITE, just some I like.
"Don't worry, you're just as sane as I am."
"It's a dangerous business, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don't keep your feet, there's no telling where you might be swept off to."
"Stars shine only in the sky. Those that fall to earth never shine again."
"PMS is just like a dementor. It sucks all the happiness out of everyone, and chocolate makes it all better."
Also, in honor of last night:
"What movie are you going to see?" "Whatever's playing in theater ten."
Day 04 → Your favorite book
I really don't read as much as I should, and I generally rely on series to find books to read because I don't know how to find new books. u.u
My favorite series, however:
The Xanth series by Piers Anthony (hands down my favorite books ever)
The Incarnations of Immortality by Piers Anthony
Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling
I also enjoy the Monk series by Lee Goldberg.
Day 03 → Your favorite television program
I'm going to list a couple here.
1. Bones. Used to be tied with Ugly Betty as my tops, but I kind of drifted away from Ugly Betty after having some issues keeping up with it- I had class during the timeslot in the third season and had some fights with abc.com's video player so um... yeah. Anyway! Bones is my favorite show partly because the main character is so AMAZING. She is like my hero. <3 Also, the dramatic finding-of-bodies openings are hilarious.
2. Psych. This show... I don't know, I watched it casually since it began and really only saw a couple episodes here and there. And then... and then the fourth season rolled around and I guess a subconscious part of me was saying "Monk is ending, you need to find something else!" because I got utterly addicted. Now I'm in love with the series because the humor is just so funny and quirky. "You really wanna know my process? It usually starts with a HOLLA! And ends with a creamsicle." "And if there's time in between- Thundercats. Ho!!"
3. Desperate Housewives. Yeah, you can mock me all you want but I've been watching DH from the beginning and enjoying it immensely by viewing it as a comedy, not a drama. I find it absolutely hilarious and I love the absurdity of everything that happens. Also, Gaby is awesome. And for an uptight religious conservative, Bree is too.
4. South Park. My god this show has been around since I was in like 5rd grade or something? And it's still funny. Butters the pimp ftw.
Favorites that are going poof:
1. Monk. ILY Monk.
2. Eastwick. Yeah I know I was watching for Darren Criss, but I legitimately enjoyed this show. I am going to miss it. =/ (Also I freakin love the actress that plays Joanna. OMG!)
That's right, I'm actually gonna do this.
Day 02 → Your favorite movie
I've got a lot of favorite movies- mostly everything on my DVD shelf. Highlights would probably be The Lord of the Rings trilogy, the X-Men trilogy, Dogma, Shrek, Aladdin, Pocahontas, Mulan, Enchanted, Blades of Glory, Hairspray, Chicago, Legally Blonde, Elf, and Field of Dreams. Dorky honorable mentions: Goodburger and Josie and the Pussycats.
On an unrelated note, I found a part of the Twilight fandom to join. I ship Edward/Jacob.
It's an awesome part of the fandom, really. The community I joined, the people generally seem to kind of dislike the books but love the pairing. I feel so accepted.
It really is a great pairing, too. They're almost literally fire and ice. How could I resist?
( That's right, I'm gonna post every day for a month. Or try at least. )
Day 1: My favorite song.
I don't have a favorite song, I generally have favorite songs of the moment. But here are some favorites, past and present.
- "The Extra Mile" by Laura Pausini.
- "At the Beginning" from Anastasia
- "Fireflies" by Owl City
- "Fearless" by Taylor Swift
- "Ever After" by Carrie Underwood
- "Heads Carolina, Tails California" by Jo Dee Messina
- "A Whole New World" from Aladdin
- "I Run to You" by Lady Antebellum
- "Crazy" by Britney Spears
- "Not Alone" from A Very Potter Musical
So guess what I did.
I watched Twilight!
Okay, this is admittedly the less embarassing of what I shall reveal. Nichole and Tammy came over and we watched it together and damn it was hilarious. There was so much unintentional humor it was ridiculous.
Also, upon deciding that Bella and Edward clear have lips the exact same color, we came to the conclusion that the reason he sneaks into her room at night is because he's stealing her lipstick. And that, ladies and gentleman, is the underlying them of the entire thing. He's dangerous and a stalker but she can't leave him because he's holding her lipstick hostage.
But anyway, there is more: I'm reading the book. I have all four, courtesy of Tammy, and I'm starting with Twilight and seeing how that goes before I read anymore. I'll probably keep reading as long as I'm entertained.
So here we go...
( In which D reads Twilight. )
Also, the reading of this book is significantly more enjoyable by suplementing it with this. And you don't have to read the book to enjoy that blog.
