End of the year survey

December 30th, 2011 (11:22 am)

I'm not sure if I've been doing this every year, but here we go.

1. What did you do this year that you'd never done before?
I got a real person job and got paid money by people that aren't family members! And also stood outside for 4 hours in costume for a midnight premiere. Plus, adopted a cat and became fully responsible for another living creature.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
lol I never make those.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?

4. Did anyone close to you die?
Just every single pet in my life. Well, besides Callie, Mippin, and Sugar.

5. What countries did you visit?
None. Oh my god, I went nowhere this year except for one day trip to Boston. D:

6. What would you like to have next year that you lacked this year?
Peace of mind.

7. What date from this year will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
October 1st, the day I adopted Boo. If I could remember dates, I would have included the day we put Jerry down and the day I got my job at Macys.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Getting a job. =P

9. What was your biggest failure?
Um. My attempts at eating healthier and exercising more.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
I think I got pretty sick a few times but that's it.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
I want to say Boo, since I paid money for her, but it sounds weird... I adopted her, I didn't buy her. So I guess, honestly... my Jasmine designer doll.

12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
My mom and dad, my sister, my best friends JK and Allison, and oddly enough Allison's nana's former aid Elizabeth.

13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
Allison's nana's former aid Elizabeth. =P Because she was actually a psycho. Also a good amount of the people in Milling Around.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Vet bills/cat food/cat toys/the Disney Store. And Wal Mart.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Boo. I drove everyone crazy at the Deerfield Fair.

16. What song will always remind you of this year?
I have no idea. Gaston? Loser Like Me? Trouty Mouth? Status Quo? If I Die Young? Last Friday Night? There isn't really one song that stands out.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder?
Probably sadder, because I'm sure at this time last year I was euphoric over actually graduating college.

ii. thinner or fatter?
About the same.

iii. richer or poorer?
Richer! There's actually money in my savings that wasn't there before!

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Exercise. Gone to Boston.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Mourning pets.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?
It's over now, but- opened presents, ate delicious food (including latkes), went to bed early because I had to get up at 3am for work the next day. (Seriously, why do people shop the day after Christmas? At 7am!? WHY!?

22. Did you fall in love this year?
Yes. With Logan Lerman a little white ghost of a kitty cat.

23. How many one-night stands?
Haha right.

24. What was your favorite TV program?
Glee, How I Met Your Mother, Jeopardy, Once Upon a Time, and at the moment? Grimm.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
I don't believe so!

26. What was the best book you read?
The entire Percy Jackson series and the first two Heroes of Olympus books. Yep.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Nothing new. I already loved Disney, Darren Criss, Sugarland, Lady Antebellum, and Taylor Swift last year.

28. What did you want and get?
A cat.

29. What did you want and not get?
A hamster.

30. What was your favorite film of this year?
I want to say HP7b, X-Men, or Captain America, but I'm pretty sure it was Thor. Super 8 is a close second.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I turned 24 and did what I do every year now- invited over my best friends and played board games and ate snacks.

32.What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
A cure for sweettooths.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept this year?
Wal Mart.

34. What kept you sane?
My friends and Boo. (While at the same time driving me insane...) Also, Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief. The movie. And I'm not even joking. It was the only thing that could get me to stop crying long enough to sleep for a few months.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Logan Lerman. No doubt. (I know, you'd think I'd say Darren Criss, but that obsession was 2010. I still love him and think he's amazing but it's not a ridiculous over the top crush anymore.)

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
The excessive signs everywhere.

37. Who did you miss?
Jerry. And my friends when I didn't see them for a few weeks.

38. Who was the best new person you met?
A couple of the seasonal people at work- one of which started back in September/October and wants to be kept on as a regular, so here's hoping.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned this year.
Life lessons? Right.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
Who wants to be normal, I'll never conform, I will be content to resent the status quo.

I know I don't really post much but I still have my communities. So I'm keeping up with icons.

Current obsession = Grimm, thus a Monroe icon was necessary. Nick may be pretty, but Monroe is hands down the best character on the show.

Following in the steps of JK and Allison...

June 22nd, 2011 (11:33 am)

day 01 - your favorite song
Darren Criss - Not Alone (Because I'm pretty sure I will love this song forever.)

day 02 - your least favorite song
Beyonce - Single Ladies. (I'm sure you all know this song and I ain't looking it up on Youtube. I find it annoying and grating and it makes me want to kill something.)

day 03 - a song that makes you happy
Glee - Big Ass Heart (Never fails to make me smile.)

day 04 - a song that makes you sad
Britney Spears - Oops!... I Did It Again (Because when Britney was popular I hated her music... now I love it because it's so much better than today's popular music. And it makes me sad how awful today's music is.)

day 05 - a song that reminds you of someone
Soluna - For All Time (Because me and Chi used to love this song back in the day, it always makes me think of her.)

day 06 - a song that reminds you of somewhere
TLC - No Scrubs (It always makes me think of Old Orchard Beach, Maine. I'm not sure why.)

day 07 - a song that reminds you of a certain event
Billy Joel - Piano Man (It reminds me of my Senior Semi in high school... I remember they started playing it and everyone got very excited... I wasn't terribly familiar with the song at that point.)

day 08 - a song that you know all the words to
Cee Lo Green - Fuck You

day 09 - a song that you can dance to
Katy Perry - Last Friday Night (Yeah.. this is my jam right now.)

day 10 - a song that makes you fall asleep
Laura Pausini - The Extra Mile (I used to literally fall asleep to this song every night... I was addicted to it for some reason.)

day 11 - a song from your favorite band
The Brilliant Green - Ai No Ai No Hoshi (Like my favorite song by them. <3)

day 12 - a song from a band you hate
I can't really think of any bands I HATE.

day 13 - a song that is a guilty pleasure
Hilary Duff - So Yesterday (I still love this song. LOL.)

day 14 - a song that no one would expect you to love
Katy Perry - E.T. (Because it's weird that I like ANY of songs considering how vocal I've been about how much I hate her.)

day 15 - a song that describes you
Weird Al - White & Nerdy (Yeah this speaks for itself. Though I'm basically super geeky without the perk of being really smart.)

day 16 - a song that you used to love but now hate
P!nk - Who Knew (It's unbelievable how many songs I've gone from loving to hating because I heard them on the radio so many goddamn times.)

day 17 - a song that you hear often on the radio
Kings of Leon - Use Somebody (Not posting a video because if I look it up I'll have to kill someone.)

day 18 - a song that you wish you heard on the radio
Charlene Kaye ft. Darren Criss - Dress and Tie (This was my happy song for a while. Charlene has SUCH a pretty voice.)

day 19 - a song from your favorite album
I seriously can't pick a favorite album. Because I love Carnival Ride and Play On (Carried Underwood) and the self-titled Brilliant Green album and the Warblers album...

day 20 - a song that you listen to when you’re angry
The Brilliant Green - Round and Round

day 21 - a song that you listen to when you’re happy
Glee Cast - Teenage Dream (It makes me think of when the song first came out last November and I remember how excited I was because DARREN ASGHGFSDF... so it's my bouncy happy song.)

day 22 - a song that you listen to when you’re sad
I generally don't listen to music when I'm sad.

day 23 - a song that you want to play at your wedding
Carrie Underwood - Ever Ever After

day 24 - a song that you want to play at your funeral
FFVII - Aeris' Theme

day 25 - a song that makes you laugh
Lonely Island - Jack Sparrow (NOW BACK TO THE GOOD PART!)

day 26 - a song that you can play on an instrument
LOL I can't play an instrument.

day 27 - a song that you wish you could play
Pocahontas - If I Never Knew You (For no real reason. =P It'd just be nice to play on a piano.)

day 28 - a song that makes you feel guilty
Carrie Underwood - Change

day 29 - a song from your childhood
Pokemon - Mezase Pokemon Master (Because I'm pretty the only songs from farther in my childhood were Disney songs.)

day 30 - your favorite song at this time last year
A Very Potter Sequel - Harry Freakin Potter (Probably a few weeks away to be a full year, but close enough because I don't remember anything else.)
http://youtu.be/KBSZKgeSNmw (Linked to the original video which includes some play stuff before the song... because it's totally one of my favorite scenes. <3 "Where have you been all my life?" "Oh in a cupboard under some stairs.")

Ridiculously, foolishly excited right now.

The Sea of Monsters movie might actually be in the works!

The script writer is gonna have a hell of a time cleaning up the mess The Lightning Thief made. Quick, time to introduce Thalia's tree, the oracle, Ares, Clarisse, and the prophecy! And whatever other vital plot points that got left out. Like how Hades isn't actually evil.

It could easily be another trainwreck, but I'm gonna cross my fingers and hope anyway.

Either way, I know I'd end up seeing it. (Heyyy at least Logan Lerman is legal now. Whoo!)

My new icon makes me happy. ILY PAVAROTTI! Best avian character ever. (Also one of my favorite people to follow on Twitter.)

Sooo Fox decided to make people explode by airing two new Glee episodes in one week... and I'm kind of glad they did. The Super Bowl episode was extremely disappointing. The Karofsky storyline bugged the crap out of me ("Hey, let's have oodles of character development, then press the rest button!"), Bills Bills Bills was thrown in completely randomly, and apparently there is such thing as too much Sue. Also, if I was Kurt, I'd be really pissed to find out my stepbrother was being all buddy buddy with the guy who threatened my life and forced me to transfer schools.

The Valentine's Day episode was like a billion times better. Puck/Lauren is my new OTP (Lauren is giving Sue a run for her money as my new favorite Glee character), Blaine is suddenly human, and Darren's voice is amazing. When I Get You Alone and Silly Love Songs didn't sound as horribly autotuned as BBB did. (And WIGYA led me to coining the term 'Darrengasm'. Seriously. Klainers were bitching about Gap Guy, but I was too busy fawning over Darren's singing.)

And speaking of Gap Guy, I can't stop laughing because he is basically Cho Chang from AVPM. Blaine/Kurt/GapGuy is unbelievably similar to Harry/Ginny/Cho. Blaine/Harry tells Kurt/Ginny he wants to sing a love song to the person he likes. Kurt/Ginny thinks they're that someone, but it's actually GapGuy/Cho. Song is sung, Blaine/Harry is turned down, and is still completely oblivious that Kurt/Ginny likes him.
Dalton needs a Yule Ball, stat!

Also, didn't anyone care that poor Gap Guy lost his job because of the song? Anyone?
